Some Solid, Pro-Conservative Reasons Why You're Voting for Barack Obama

So, you support Barack Obama and your parents think he just may in fact be the anti-Christ and will usher in a time of zombies wandering the landscape eating the brains of the innocent, forced abortions, mandatory murder and higher taxes. How do you break the news to your parents without causing them to fall into a permanent conniption fit?

One way to approach this is to highlight Obama's socially conservative views and actions as compared to John McCain's. Here are a few reasons you can throw out there that may serve to mollify your parents and keep your family relationship strong:

  • "Barack Obama is a family man. John McCain is a twice-married, adulterer. I just can't support that."

  • "I support American Veterans. They have fought for my freedom, after all. John McCain does not support them. Barack Obama does."

  • "John McCain is not very religious and has called Pat Robertson an agent of intolerance. Barack Obama is a church-going Christian."

This is just a starter list, feel free to add more. Remember, the family you save could be your own.

John McCain IS an American Veteran. How can you not support yourself?

Go get your facts before you try to spew your ignorance in blog form.

Heidi:

No one (believe me, *no one*) has ever accused John McCain of failing to support himself.

As to spewing facts about Johnny McVeteran's failure to support veterans, here's but one example (from Bob Aronson's "Blogs by Bob"):

On May 22, 2008, the U.S. Senate overwhelmingly approved a landmark increase in college aid to veterans of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. Senator McCain, however, sided with President Bush who has promised to veto the legislation which was authored by Virginia Democratic Senator Jim Webb. But the 75-22 margin, more than the two-thirds majority needed to override a veto, suggests an easy override of the President’s wishes.

On the Senate floor, Democrat Presidential candidate Barack Obama respectfully disagreed with McCain’s opposition to the Webb bill saying, “I respect Senator John McCain’s service to our country. He is one of those heroes of which I speak. But I can’t understand why he would line up behind the President in his opposition to this G.I. bill.” The bill’s chief author is Senator Jim Webb who has a son serving in Iraq. Webb, like McCain, is a war hero who also served as secretary of the Navy under President Reagan.

See? That wasn't so hard to understand, now was it?

The Barack Obama Presidential Coin

at http://coin.democratz.org

The mint does not deface any U.S. Coins in the making of this coin. We do not imply that anyone buying this coin will make money in investing in the coin. We do say that the person will have a nice souvenir.

How's This?
"Sorry Dad, you warned me that I would become more conservative as I grew to understand more about the world, and I'm beginning to see what you mean. Obama really IS trying to eliminate a free market economy and make us all slaves to the Federal government.
I'm sorry Dad, I was a fool. You were right Dad. I was such an idiot. I'll never be hoodwinked like this again by a self-aggrandizing pretty boy who I was just too blinded by to think more deeply about."
